The keys. . . .

Gentle reminders. . . .

Today before you say an unkind word -
Think of someone who can't speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food -
Think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Today before you complain about life -
Think of someone who went too early to heaven.
Before you complain about your children -
Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.
Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or sweep -
Think of the people who are living in the streets.
Before whining about the distance you drive -
Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job -
Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.
But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another -
Remember that not one of us is without error and we all answer to the Divine.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down
Put a smile on your face and Thank GOD you're alive and still around!

Praising God for the resources!

Three things I asked of the Lord!

- That the home we move into will still have a view of the mountains that mean so much to me.
- The back porch upstairs looks out to an unobstructed view of "my" mountains!
- That my husband would be in agreement about this move because God was working in his heart also.
- My husband was in total agreement and had been feeling that this was something that God was leading us to do. I was confirmation for HIM!
- That God would provide a newer couch for us!
- This was a silly wish of mine, but would you know, God even cares about our desires that seem silly. We have a "newer" couch waiting for us now in our "new" home left behind by our landlord!
Our God is a good God and always blesses us
with more than we can ask or imagine!
Yes, it's a rental home,
but it is a blessing none-the-less,
and for that we are grateful!
Preparing to minster through opening our home to others
We are called to minister to all that we meet, and we believe that God is opening doors to minister in our new hometown. This post on a beautiful blog really spoke to me: HospitalitySo often we make excuses for not reaching out -but in reality, if we don't who will?
I want to be able to have anyone drop in and not have a heart attack or be ashamed of the condition of my home and/or my children's behavior.
I have my work cut out for me:-)
In the sight of God

You are not holier if you are praised,
What you are, that you are;
~ Thomas a Kempis ~
We have been living in the "desert"
That can be true in life, too. You may be working for a hard-to-please boss. You may be facing a difficult move. You might have some financial pressure or a health issue. Each of these could be considered a desert experience. But there are aspects of God that we can’t see unless we’re in the desert.
The desert is a place of danger, and that’s where we learn that God is our protection.
The desert is a place of dryness, and that’s where we learn that God is our provider.
The desert is a place of desolation, and that’s where we learn that God will always be with us.
Are you in a desert? Gaze up above your situation to the brilliant light of God’s glory. Ask Him to show you more of His beauty during this time.

Drawing your family together, even in the midst of change

- Recognize that all of us have strengths and weaknesses and that God encourages us to be tenderhearted, gentle and compassionate with each other.
- Ask God for wisdom. James 1:5 says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who give generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."
- Remember how God has helped your family in the past. Talk about His goodness and faithfulness and how He helped you through each challenge.
- Trust God to work out your circumstances for good, even if you can't imagine how that might be possible (see Romans 8:28).
- Purposefully draw closer to your family by communicating and praying together.
My song of praise and devotion to the Lord!

I felt led to begin this blog to be an "Anthem of Praise" to the Lord, even in the midst of moving into another home and leaving the familiar behind for the uncharted path. The Bible verse I chose to put at the top of this page is one that means so much to me : looking to the mountains around me has always brought me comfort and peace, even as a small child.
We know that the Lord is leading us and we seek to praise him even in the midst of change without giving in to our fears. We are taking all of these steps by faith and we are thankful that the Lord is always there for us and knows where all of our steps will take us, even though we don't.
He has also been working through others to send encouragement to us as we walk this road:
Only 1 of 2 things will happen: either He'll catch you when you fall,
Praise God!

God works things out for our good!

AMEN!
~God closes doors no man can open & God opens doors no man can close.~
We are so thankful that even when we hear the echoes of a slammed door,
that He opens another one. . . .
